Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made from RN Signs through our website, quotations, invoices or other agreed ordering methods.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

1. About RN Signs

RN Signs designs and manufactures custom signs, personalised products and ready-made items.

2. Products and services

We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately.

Because many products are individually manufactured, minor variations may occur in colour, grain, pattern, positioning or finish. Colours may also appear differently depending on screen settings and lighting conditions.

These minor variations will not normally be considered faults, provided the product remains consistent with its description and any approved design.

3. Custom orders

A custom order includes any product made to the customer’s specifications, including products featuring:

• Personalised wording
• Names or dates
• Customer-supplied logos or artwork
• Customer-selected measurements
• Specially selected materials or colours
• A design created or adapted specifically for the customer

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate information when placing an order.

4. Quotations

Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 30 days.

A quotation is based on the information available when it is issued. We may revise it if:

• The requested design, dimensions or materials change
• Additional work is requested
• Important information was missing or inaccurate
• Delivery or installation requirements change
• Material or supplier costs change after the quotation expires

No additional charge will be made without informing the customer first.

5. Design proofs and approval

Where applicable, we will provide a design proof before manufacturing begins.

The customer must carefully check:

• Wording and spelling
• Names, dates and numbers
• Dimensions and proportions
• Colours and materials
• Logo placement
• Layout and general appearance

Production will begin only after the final design has been approved, unless otherwise agreed.

Written approval by email, message, website form or another recorded method will be treated as confirmation that the customer has checked and accepted the design.

If we manufacture the product accurately in accordance with the approved proof, an error that was visible in that proof will not normally make the product faulty.

This does not affect the customer’s rights if the finished product does not match the approved design or is otherwise faulty, misdescribed or not fit for its agreed purpose.

6. Changes after approval

Contact us immediately if you wish to change an approved design.

Once materials have been ordered or production has begun, changes may not be possible. Where a change can be made, additional design, material or manufacturing charges may apply.

We will explain and agree any additional charge before continuing.

7. Customer-supplied artwork

Customers must ensure that artwork supplied to RN Signs is of suitable quality and that they have permission to use it.

By supplying a logo, photograph, illustration, typeface or other material, the customer confirms that:

• They own the relevant rights or have permission from the rights holder
• RN Signs may reproduce and adapt it as necessary to fulfil the order
• Its use will not knowingly infringe another person’s copyright, trade mark or other rights

We may refuse artwork that appears unlawful, offensive, misleading or likely to infringe another party’s rights.

The customer remains responsible for claims arising from material they supplied without the necessary permission, to the extent permitted by law.

8. Our designs and manufacturing files

Any logo or artwork supplied by the customer remains the property of its existing owner.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, RN Signs retains ownership of its original concepts, manufacturing drawings, cut files, production files and working files.

Purchasing a physical sign does not automatically include ownership or delivery of the editable design or manufacturing files.

We will not sell another customer’s logo as a generic product. Generic designs created by RN Signs may be reused or sold unless exclusivity has been agreed in writing.

9. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.

The total price, including any applicable delivery charges, will be shown at checkout or stated in the customer’s quotation or invoice.

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods we accept.

We may require full payment or an agreed deposit before beginning design work, ordering materials or starting production.

Ownership of the finished goods does not pass to the customer until all amounts due have been paid.

10. Order acceptance

An order is accepted when we issue an order confirmation, accept payment or confirm the order in writing.

We may refuse or cancel an order where:

• A product was incorrectly priced or described
• Required materials are unavailable
• The request is unlawful or cannot reasonably be manufactured
• We cannot deliver to the supplied address
• Fraud or unauthorised payment is suspected

If we cancel an order, we will refund amounts paid for work or products that will not be supplied.

11. Production times

Custom signs are normally manufactured within 10–15 working days after:

• The final design has been approved
• All required information and artwork have been received
• Any required payment has been completed

Production time does not include delivery time.

Complex, oversized or illuminated signs may take longer. If materials must be specially ordered or an unexpected delay occurs, we will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible.

Any deadline must be agreed with us in writing before the order is placed.

12. Delivery

Delivery times, charges, locations and procedures are explained in our Shipping Policy.

Customers are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate delivery address and informing us about any access restrictions that could affect delivery.

Risk of loss or damage passes to a consumer when the goods are delivered to them or to a person they nominated, except where the consumer independently arranged a carrier that we did not offer.

13. Cancellations

Standard, non-personalised products may be subject to the statutory cancellation rights described in our Return and Refund Policy.

The statutory right to cancel for change of mind does not normally apply to products that are made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.

If a customer asks to cancel a custom order before production begins, we will review the request fairly.

Where design work has been completed, materials have been specially ordered or manufacturing has begun, we may deduct reasonable costs already incurred where the law permits. We will not impose an excessive or arbitrary cancellation charge.

Nothing in this section limits the customer’s statutory rights.

14. Returns, faults and damage

Returns, refunds and damaged deliveries are handled in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy.

Products supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their agreed purpose and as described.

If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect, misdescribed or does not match the approved design, contact us promptly so that we can investigate and provide an appropriate remedy.

Depending on the circumstances and the customer’s legal rights, this may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund.

15. Installation

Installation is not included unless it is specifically stated in the order confirmation or quotation.

Where customers arrange their own installation, they are responsible for:

• Checking that the mounting surface is suitable
• Using suitable fixings
• Following supplied instructions
• Using a competent electrician for products requiring mains electrical work
• Obtaining any necessary landlord, planning or other permission
• Ensuring outdoor products are approved for outdoor use

RN Signs is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable surfaces, unsuitable fixings, misuse, unauthorised alteration or failure to follow supplied instructions.

This does not exclude responsibility for defective products or negligent installation carried out by RN Signs.

16. Illuminated and electrical products

Illuminated signs must be installed and used in accordance with the supplied instructions.

Unless a product is expressly described as suitable for outdoor use, it must be treated as an indoor product and protected from moisture.

Electrical components must not be altered, opened or connected incorrectly. Where fixed mains wiring is required, installation must be completed by a suitably competent person.

17. Measurements

Customers must check that their chosen dimensions are suitable for the intended location.

Where a product is manufactured using measurements supplied or approved by the customer, RN Signs is not responsible if those measurements prove unsuitable, provided the product was made to the agreed dimensions.

Where RN Signs conducts a site survey or supplies measurements as part of an installation service, we remain responsible for carrying out that service with reasonable care and skill.

18. Photography and promotion

We may photograph completed products for our portfolio, website or social media.

We will not intentionally publish confidential customer information. If you do not want your completed sign photographed or shared, please tell us before production begins.

We will seek permission before publishing images that clearly identify a private individual or private residential address.

19. Website use

You must not misuse this website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or use its content for unlawful purposes.

Website content, including photographs, text, graphics and RN Signs designs, may not be copied or used commercially without permission, except where the law allows.

20. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Breach of statutory consumer rights
• Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

For business customers, RN Signs is not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or business interruption, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including serious courier disruption, severe weather, fire, flood, power failure, machinery failure, supplier shortages, industrial action or government restrictions.

If this happens, we will contact the customer and take reasonable steps to minimise the delay.

This section does not remove any rights the customer may have where an order cannot be fulfilled within a reasonable or agreed time.

22. Complaints

We will investigate the matter and attempt to resolve it fairly and promptly.

23. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services, business practices or legal obligations change.

The terms applying to an order will normally be those presented when that order was placed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with the customer.

24. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Consumers retain any mandatory rights they have under the laws applying where they live and may bring proceedings in any court available to them under applicable consumer law.

25. Entire agreement

These terms, together with the relevant product description, quotation, approved design, order confirmation, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy and Return and Refund Policy, form the agreement between RN Signs and the customer.

If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
